Flagstaff Academy's mission is to provide a science-focused, liberal arts curriculum that promotes excellence, teamwork, respect, and a lifelong love of learning. Cornerstones of the school include ability grouping and in-classroom differentiation strategies, which encourages all students to maximize their potential. The elementary and middle school programs have been developed to progressively build each student's foundation of knowledge and to prepare the student for success at the next level.

Flagstaff Academy is looking for school personnel who will excel to meet our strong educational values, to ensure that all children are successful, to empower students to reach their individual potential, and to create an environment that is academically challenging as well as nurturing.

Flagstaff Academy is also a Colorado Health Links Certified Healthy Workplace TM Leader, the only charter school in Colorado to receive this designation.

Salary and Benefits

Flagstaff Academy offers competitive benefits, such as health, dental, vision and PERA (Public Education Retirement Association). The salary schedule for the school is based on experience. Flagstaff Academy does not use the St. Vrain Valley School District Salary Matrix.

Teacher Hiring Process

To be considered as an applicant for a licensed teaching position at Flagstaff Academy, please submit the following:

  • Cover letter
  • Resume
  • Details of Licensure for teachers

All resumes and cover letters are reviewed by administrators to determine if the requirements for the designated subject or grade level have been met. Applications are then reviewed to determine the most qualified candidates for current vacancies.

Candidate Selection

Candidates selected for an in-house interview should bring official college transcripts, Colorado Teaching license, any portfolios, or current work samples, and three letters of reference. Candidates who make it past the initial selection will be asked to do a mock teaching session with children of an appropriate age level facilitated by an administrator. Candidates selected for hire will need to pass a background check.
